CCA photo taking 2008

In the midst of training hard for the National Xcountry (next Wed 23rd Apr) and mugging (it's OK to be a nerd & love books!), this may seem out of point. But here's the information anyway:

What? CCA photo taking 2008

When? 23rd May 2008 (Friday)
1pm-5.30pm
* Last day of Term 2*
(more specific timing to be confirmed later)

Who? Compulsory for YOU who have been attending Xcountry/Track& Field training the last 4 months - the last time I counted - there's around 40+ of you.

How? Turn up in your jersery top & shorts at the scheduled time! (anyway, training is likely to have resumed by then.)
For the seniors (who recall previous photos taken in school uniform), come on, if you take it in school uniform, no difference from class photos or clubs and societies. The uniform groups have their smart uniforms; the sports groups have their respective jerseys!

& while I'm at this, might as well share the photos taken last year (for the juniors' benefit):

Don't they look good (in red jerseys)?! =)
In the meantime, continue to train hard, study hard (play hard after MYE when you'd done well).

Oh ya, cheers to Wan Ping who will be receiving her trophy for U17 Girls (Swift @ MacRitchie) Individual 10th tomorrow. Overdue! Hopefully the weather allows.

Akira/Swift Cross Country Championships 2008

5th April 2008
MacRitchie Reservoir
4.5km (Boys), 3.2km (Girls)

3rd April - went down for route familiarisation (for the Sec 1s esp) and it rained right after warm-up.

5th April - Rained @ JSS just before we set off... argHhh.

BUT the weather was sunny with occasional light breeze when we reached MacRitchie - great!

BUT what's new? It didn't last throughout - started drizzling just before the men and women open flagged off. Some, who still need to be told to warm down properly, used that as a convenient excuse.

Anyway, pics as follows:

Only Wei Sheng seem glad to be there - photographer owed the rest $?? (Kenneth, as usual, was distracted.)

Flag off ... GO!
Off they go~
The last 20 m for Yi Ying & Corrina.
Alas, didn't manage a decent shot of Nikki,
Jia Hui & Reshmi
The U17 girls before flag off
(- Esther who's washing cars + Wan Ping)

Just missed the top 10 - Jin Ming must be disappointed but he's gaining back his form

Both Abloy & Kenneth look good when they are seriously running and in red jerseys - don't go the other way again please
Nizam's not too happy being pushed - who will be huh? Part & parcel of races - maintain your sportmanship even if others don't

Not in good form but surely must make it to the finish line

expecting 4.8 km but ended at 4.5 km
A sprained ankle but kept running
"Almost stepped on a monkey; those behind screamed like xxx" (Some felt rejuvenuated by monkeys; others are just wary.)

Official photographer cum timer
- Chia Yuan's still recovering from last injury - Get well soon!
(Ella ella eh eh eh) Junko is pretty tickled/impressed by the Cedar girls' umbrellas. How many of you bring umbrellas for trainings/competitions?
Coming in 10th for U17 girls: Chua Wan Ping
I know you are affected that the name wasn't changed; can't be changed.
The juniors who don't know him - Allan's JSS captain 2006.
------------------------------------------------------
Rayner - glad you came to support the team (otherwise, as he put it, would be at home facing comp, rather than the books) - could always do with an extra pairs of hands aound. Btw, some of your jokes were funny but only because they were told at the right time & place.
Not all would be running the National Xcountry but all would surely be going down to support!
